1. Be a good human! This covers a lot of ground. Be respectful of other racers, aid station staff, and other trail users. This is NOT a closed course. Being a jerk will not be accepted or tolerated. Poor behavior will result in disqualification from the event and a potential ban from future events. Just be kind at all times.
2. Do not litter. If you are caught littering you will be disqualified from the event.
3. Cut off times are strictly enforced. This is for your safety and to respect the time of our many volunteers.
⚠️ Aid Station #1 - Cascade: Sunday, 2:30 AM
⚠️ Aid Station #2 - Snowblind Campground: Sunday, 10 AM
⚠️ Aid Station #3 - Monarch Pass (drop bags): Sunday, 1 PM
⚠️ Aid Station #4 - Marshall Pass (1x thru): Sunday, 3 PM
⚠️ Aid Station #5 - Marshall Pass (2x thru): Sunday, 5 PM
4. All racers are expected to be fully self-supported between aid stations. No outside support. No stashing of food, water or equipment. No pacers. Racers are allowed to help each other. Examples: a racer can give another racer a tube if they like. A racer can help another racer repair their bike. A racer and give another racer a gel, etc. Understand no racer is obligated to help another racer.
5. Racer Support - In addition to the race provided support at the 5 aid stations, racers can have family, friends, and crew members meet them at Aid #1 (Cascade) and Aid #3 (Monarch Pass) only. The other aid stations are remote, require 4x4 high clearance vehicle, have limited parking, are shared by other user groups, and limited by our USFS Permits. Family, friends, and crew members are NOT allowed on other parts of the course!
6. If you must DNF from the event, please do so at an Aid Station and notify staff immediately. All racers are responsible for getting themselves back to Salida, CO if they DNF.
7. All racers are allowed one reasonable size drop bag which will be transported to and from Aid Station #3 (Monarch Pass). Riders can put whatever they like in this bag; food, drink, spare parts, extra tire, tubes, etc. Drop bags will be returned to Absolute Bikes after the aid station closes on Sunday afternoon.
8. Ride within your limits. The Vapor Trail 125 is not a race course to take risks on. The course is very remote and it can take hours for medical or rescue to get to you.
9. Bring what YOU need. Our aid stations are very well stock. But if you have specific nutritional needs, special chain lube, etc, please bring it with you.
10. Be prepared. Please be prepared for all weather (hot, cold, rain, snow). Be prepared to repair your bike if needed. Be prepared to self-rescue if needed.
11. Know and understand the course. Put the course on your GPS device. We mark the route very well with arrows and ribbons, but these items can blow down, have a tree fall on them, acts of god, etc. Seemingly each year riders go off course. Ride heads up and reference your GPS as needed.
